Limits on Outgoing Email Print

  • 0

The maximum limit per Email message without being whitelisted is 100 recipients per email, with a 500 recipient per 24hour period, as long as the user is authenticated.

Targeted Thresholds:

  • SMTP Authentication: 500 recipients per day
  • POP to Send / POP before SMTP: 250 recipients per day
  • Webmail: 250 recipients per day
  • Max 50 recipients per message
  • Max 30 restricted recipients per message (3rd party recipients including Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo domains)

If a user needs to exceed these limits we would require a completed whitelist request. Here is the information that the user must submit to request that whitelisting:

1 - The number of recipients you will be sending this message to:

2 - The frequency with which these mailings will take place:

3 - How many of your recipients have @aol.com @hotmail.com and @yahoo.com addresses? (each, not combined total):

4 - Each message will be required to have valid Opt-out information and the messages should only be sent to recipients who have requested your messages. The Opt-out must be clearly visible in all messages, including the provided example. We will not proceed if this requirement is not met.

5 a) - Can you send out an Opt-in email to each recipient under AOL, Hotmail and Yahoo requesting the recipient reply if they wish to continue receiving their messages?

5 b) - If a recipient does not respond, are you willing to remove that email contact from their mailing list?

5 c) - If you do not wish to proceed with the above Opt-in procedure for AOL, Hotmail and Yahoo (etc.) recipients are you willing to remove all these recipients from your mailing lists?

6 - How/where did you obtain the recipients/mailing list?

7 - SMTP username (you must use SMTP authentication):

8 - A sample of the message being sent.
